Sendang Putri Wilis in Nganjuk Regency, East Java Province
When visiting Nganjuk Regency during holidays, many people would hear many recommendations including Sendang Putri Wilis. This beautiful and serene waterfall is located in Ngliman Village and belongs to Sawahan Sub-District. It is true the location is on a highland, so everyone should conduct trekking in order to reach the site. The status is an unofficial tourist site, but the popularity is considered excellent. Visitors also need to get down the cliff in order to reach the location. Here is the good news. The route is the same as the one that heads to Singokromo Waterfall. The direction is easy! Moreover, tourists can simply ask the locals who open a traditional eatery along the way to the site.
For those coming from Singokromo Waterfall, in this case, they only need to walk to Sendang Putri Wilis on foot. The distance is approximately 200 meters. This trip would be both comfortable and interesting due to the presence of tall trees and wild roses that grow in that area. According to the local government, that location also becomes a natural conservation to cultivate several plants including cloves, eucalyptus, bamboos, etc. Thus, before visiting the waterfall, it is recommended to take photos of those beautiful plants first.
After arriving at Sendang Putri Wilis, the real fun begins. Tourists would see a tiny waterfall featuring a weak water discharge. Even though photography is recommended, the best activity would be either bathing or swimming at the natural pond. How to Get There
The prime destination would be Nganjuk Regency. From Surabaya City, in this case, a trip to the destination may take about 2 hours and 3 minutes. It is because the distance is 112 km. The first route to take is Surabaya – Mojokerto Highway. Next, tourists must take Mojokerto – Kertosono Highway in order to reach the downtown. After reaching Nganjuk, they should take Sedudo Street and head to Ngliman Village. The distance is 31.4 km, so the trip would take around 59 minutes. Lastly, it only requires trekking in order to reach the waterfall.
