Pacoban Ngunut Waterfall in Nganjuk Regency, East Java Province
It has been known for generations. Pacoban Ngunut has become one of the best natural attractions in Nganjuk Regency. The location is a little bit challenging, indeed. It is because tourists need to conduct trekking by taking a route to Wilis Mountain. The good thing is location is near to another famous natural attraction called Roro Kuning Waterfall. To be exact, the waterfall resides in Bajulan Village at Loceret Sub-District. Visitors usually come to the site for an exploration, sightseeing, and family recreation. The location is, somehow, suitable for retreating and getting rid of fatigue!
The Nuance
Due to a secluded location, Pacoban Ngunut has a peaceful nuance. The pristine environment also makes it more comfy to explore. The water discharge is quite strong and the water feels so refreshing. Despite the strength, it only features a small natural pond. Tourists are allowed to take a shower under the waterfall, but they are not allowed to spend too much time! As for the atmosphere, it feels rejuvenating due to the presence of several types of trees including banana trees! Unlike its neighbor (Roro Kuning Waterfall), this one has no facilities at all.
Exploring Pacoban Ngunut Waterfall
The first common reason for visiting Pacoban Ngunut Waterfall is related to the beauty. People simply appreciate the appearance of this hidden waterfall during the visit. They sit by the waterfall and witness the stunning appearance of the waterfall. At noon, the sunray reflects beautifully on the water and looks like bunches of crystals! Somehow, it is recommended to come in different times including in the morning and afternoon. The nuance feels different, so tourists should try them all.
As mentioned before, Pacoban Ngunut Waterfall doesn’t have many facilities. Tourists can only find lush nature, exotic waterfall, and natural pond there. This combination can replace any kind of facilities, in fact. The seclusion even helps visitors to forget about their daily routines for a while. At least, they can find peace during the visit before getting back to their busy works. The only problem is related to the route, which is considered difficult or challenging. In this case, hiring a local guide would be a good idea.
Another reason to come to Pacoban Ngunut is the waterfall hopping. Several other beautiful waterfalls reside in that area, after all. Tourists only need to explore the east part of Wilis Mountain to find more amazing falls. These include Pacoban Coban, Roro Kuning, Ngleyangan, and Sedudo Waterfall. Each of the offers a distinct beauty and can be reached easily from Pacoban Ngunut. Once again, hiring a local guide is a must.
