Jung Pakis Beach in Tulungagung Regency, East Java Province

In the southern part of Tulungagung Regency, tourists may find lots of beautiful beaches. One of them is located in Tanggung Gunung Sub-District, which is called Jung Pakis Beach. This serene and beautiful beach belongs to Jengglung Harjo Village and becomes a nice spot to relax and spend a relaxing family recreation. Tourists are also interested to visit the beach for watching sea turtles! These beautiful sea creatures often come ashore and lay eggs on it. Even though the number of sea turtles is not as many as Penyu Island’s, it is satisfying enough for watching.

The Nuance
In Jung Pakis Beach, tourists are likely to enjoy a peaceful nuance. It is because the location is a little bit secluded, so not many people know the spot. The sound of splashing waves and the warm breezy wind welcome everyone right away. As for the shoreline, the length is moderate and it features a soft-textured sandy landscape. The color is creamy brown, actually. On the horizon, lush bushes and small trees also soothe visitors. What about the waves? Like other southern beaches in Tulungagung Regency, it is considered big. However, some spots are safe enough for swimming (due to the presence of a cape-like water landscape).

Exploring Jung Pakis Beach
The most common reason for visiting Jung Pakis Beach is to watch sea turtles. One thing, it is considered rare to meet these cute animals. That means tourists aren’t likely to find sea turtles if they come randomly. Thus, it is recommended to ask the locals or tour guide regarding the best time to visit the beach. Here is the rule. No one is allowed to harm the sea turtles. Visitors can only watch and take photos of them!

Aside from watching sea turtles in the wild, tourists can enjoy other types of activities in Jung Pakis Beach. For instance, it is beach walking. The soft sandy shoreline is comfy enough for an exploration, after all. It doesn’t even hurt everyone’s feet when walking on the shoreline barefoot. It also feels warm at noon, so beach walking can be done regardless of the time.

What is more? Photography is the next common thing to do in Jung Pakis Beach. It can be done either by using a digital camera or smartphone, depending on the quality of the camera. After taking some good photos, tourists can simply enjoy a soothing atmosphere in the afternoon. The wind becomes bigger at the time, though, so it is recommended to wear a comfy jacket.
