Industri Marmer Tulungagung
Kepopuleran Tulungagung sebagai penghasil Marmer tidaklah terbentuk dalam 1 atau 2 tahun, melainkan sudah ada sejak jaman Belanda. Lokasi industri marmer ini berada di desa Besole, kecamatan Besuki, Tulungagung.
Mengapa potensi daerah ini sangat besar untuk menghasilkan marmer, karena menurut penelitian di daerah ini terdapat cadangan marmer yang sangat besar dengan kualitas yang baik untuk digunakan sebagai penghasil marmer dan bahan bangunan.
Saat ini, nama Tulungagung sebagai penghasil marmer telah semakin membuat citra daerah itu semakin berkembang, tidak hanya di daerah sekitar Jawa Timur, tapi juga ke beberapa negara. Ditambah lagi dengan adanya permintaan pasar akan marmer, membuat kabupaten ini harus men supply dan memproduksi lebih banyak lagi marmer.
Karena begitu besarnya permintaan pasar akan marmer, maka pengusaha di beberapa tempat di Tulungagung juga menyediakan bahan lain seperti, andesit, granit, bobos, onyx, dll, yang hasilnya tak kalah bagusnya dari bahan marmer tersebut.
