Drajat traditional dance. This dance is symbolizing the rise of the prince to be a heir of the King. Brought by Madurese girls, this dance is usually shown for welcoming the importan guests who passing by to Madura.

Rondhing Dance, is one of an origin dance of Pamekasan, Madura which now start to be developed bt group of artistry in local area. This dance actually is symbolising the struggle of Pamekasan people against the colonist.

Like other dance which growing in Madura, Rondhing dance is usually accompanied by gamelan music instrumental or being called as saronen.

Praburoro Dance

The word of Praburoro comes from the character of this performance whose name is Roro Rengganis. Praburoro is a type of dramatic dance. The stories that are performed come from the Panji, or the tale of Amir Hamzah, which is influenced by Islamic Persian stories. There are about 40 – 50 people who are involved in this performance. The players are divided into 3 groups.

The musical instrument is the gamelan of Java with slendro tone (a typical Javanese gamelan tone). Praburoro is a very unique presentation. First of all, the dance is a Javanese dance. The costumes are modeled after the wayang (puppet) orang performance. The musical instrument is the Javanese gamelan. The songs are also Javanese. However, the songs can be the songs of the Banyuwanginese; such as Padang Ulan, Waru Doyong, Kembang Waru, etc. The story is about the conquest of a non-moslem country. The performance ends with the scene of the King that has been conquered by Menak Agung Jayengrono and Umarmoyo.

Rondhing Dance

This Madura’s traditional dance is such a greetings dance for welcoming the honor guesses. Historically, this dance is symbolizing the step for a prince to be a king at Madura ancient kingdom.

This dance was originally come from Pamekasan, the other part of Madura’s area. Hence, this dance also become the symbol of Pamekasan inhabitant struggle against the colonist.

Like other dance type growing in Madura, Rondhing dance is using the attendant of gamelan music or ordinary called as saronen. This dance was popular in 1960-an year.
