Praburoro Traditional Dance - Banyuwangi

Praburoro Dance

The word of Praburoro comes from the character of this performance whose name is Roro Rengganis. Praburoro is a type of dramatic dance. The stories that are performed come from the Panji, or the tale of Amir Hamzah, which is influenced by Islamic Persian stories. There are about 40 – 50 people who are involved in this performance. The players are divided into 3 groups.

The musical instrument is the gamelan of Java with slendro tone (a typical Javanese gamelan tone). Praburoro is a very unique presentation. First of all, the dance is a Javanese dance. The costumes are modeled after the wayang (puppet) orang performance. The musical instrument is the Javanese gamelan. The songs are also Javanese. However, the songs can be the songs of the Banyuwanginese; such as Padang Ulan, Waru Doyong, Kembang Waru, etc. The story is about the conquest of a non-moslem country. The performance ends with the scene of the King that has been conquered by Menak Agung Jayengrono and Umarmoyo.

Coban Talun Waterfall tourism is located in Junggo sub-village, Tulungrejo village, Bumiaji district. The waterfall is lying between the big stones. The big rock of white stone have predominate the contents of river. In the waterfall base there is superficial pool water what overflows pool.

Coban Talun waterfall is surrounded by forest and cool mountain. Because of the natural beauty, this area often used as camping ground area. This camping ground is located in one area with Coban Talun waterfall. The natural and cold area, make many visitors, either from education world and public, interesting to visit this camping. But the visitors should have fit stamina to reach the location, because the path is sloping way.

A Cave that has 5 meters depth is located in Coban Talun area, not far from its pool. It is located in Junggo sub-village, Tulungrejo village, Bumiaji district. This cave has unique structure; looks like letter ‘T’.

Sendang Made - Jombang

Sendang Made

According to history, Sendang Made is beginning from the marriage of Damarwangsa,s Princess named Sekarwati with a prince from empire of Bali named Airlangga, but then attacked by Prabu Wora Wari from Tulungagung. Then the group saved by Prabu Narotama to mount Lawu and ended in a pool, accompanied with five waiting women. Moreover, that pool is Sendang Made as the ‘nyepi’ (meditation activity) place of Prabu Airlangga with his wife, waiting women and many soldiers, after attacked by other empire.

Sendang / pool with 8 m X 11 m width, seen that it still maintained. Its buildings are also looked complete. It is also has partition of room around it, which aimed for rest place of Prabu Brawijaya group at that moment.

Why this pool called Sendang Made? Because this pool is located in Made Village, Kudu district, Jombang Regency.
Besides Sendang Made, there is other smaller pool around it, such as; Sendang Payung, Sendang Padusan, Sendang Drajat, Sendang Sinden, and Sendang Omben.

The other uniquely is we had not allowed to build or have renovation for any building around Sendang Made. It aimed to taking care its fullness of history value.

To reach Sendang Made, we able to use various vehicles. There is wide parking area, make this competent pool become a recreation place for public Jombang and especially for the tourist.

Madakaripura Waterfall - Probolinggo

MADAKARIPURA WATERFALL

Madakaripura waterfall is located on Sapih village, Lombang district, Probolinggo. The object itself is near from Bromo Mt area. Madakaripura is such a sacred place, where the waterfall’s height is about 200 meters from the bottom. This waterfall has related historic with a great ancient Javanese Prime Ministry of Gajah Mada, who strongly struggled to unified the territory of the nation under the control of Majapahit Kingdom, ones said that it is “the last stay for Gajah Mada”.

This spectacular waterfall lies hidden at the end of a deep valley in the foothills of Tengger range. The water has cascades from the dense forest above. The primary attraction is the natural sight that is encircled by 7 waterfalls and caves.

The direction from Tongas, which is the downtown of Probolinggo city to the object is about 7 Km, and you will find the great views beside the back of the mountain. The fresh air and the natural sight indeed.

The facilities which available on the object are include; parking lot, food stalls, resting place, the guide from the local inhabitant and security post.
The route from the the parking lot to the waterfall is quietly hard yet so much fun, but after arrive to the top of the waterfall everything is just more and more… fascinating!
